Amanda Cunningham - She/Her
Chief Executive Officer

In 2001 Amanda received her Master’s of Science degree in Clinical Psychology from Emporia State University and soon after, began her career at CrossWinds. Since middle school, she has known that child psychology was her dream and she has spent her career pursuing it. Amanda has held many leadership roles at CrossWinds and her current is the Chief Executive Officer. Amanda says of CrossWinds “working here has been a true blessing and I am so honored to be on the team!” Amanda and her husband of 18 years have four children.

Lucas Moody - He/Him
Development and Logistics Director

Lucas graduated from Emporia State University with a Bachelor’s in Sociology of children and family and a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and added his MBA in marketing in 2024. Lucas has served on two state-level boards, one for poverty-fighting and one for child abuse along with 25 years of service in the helping field.

Courtney Cates

Courtney Cates- She/Her
Human Resources Director

Courtney attended Emporia State University to obtain her Business Degree. She then received her Master’s degree in Human Resource Development from Villanova University. Courtney is a certified human resource professional through the Society for Human Resource Management. Courtney began her career with CrossWinds in 2009 and said her favorite thing about the organization is “working with an outstanding group of employees who are passionate about mental health and improving lives in our communities.”

Kayla Scott - She/Her
Community Based Services Director

Kayla has her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and Art Therapy from Emporia State University. She began working in the mental health field in 2012 and greatly enjoys interacting with staff, building relationships with community partners, and being able to serve clients and their families at CrossWinds.

Andrea Myers
Community Support Services Director

Andrea graduated with her bachelors in Sociology  and shortly after graduation began working at Crosswinds. Andrea then received her Masters in Social Work in 2023. Andrea is so thankful to have the ability to support staff in helping as many individuals touched by mental health issues through empowering them, break down barriers, and continually educate the community about the importance of mental health.

Sarah Stockwell- She/Her
Chief Financial Officer

Sarah brings over 20 years of accounting experience. She obtained a Bachelor's degree in accounting followed by an MBA with an emphasis in accounting. This has provided her with a solid foundation to make informed financial decisions. Additionally, She serves as the treasurer for the Holtz foundation, where her financial stewerdship contributed to the successful execution of the foundations philanthropic initiatives.

Lauren Rickner - She/Her
Quality and Innovation Director

Lauren graduated with her Masters in Clinical Psychology from Emporia State University in 2015. She began her career in the mental health field when she joined the CrossWinds team as a therapist in 2015. Most of all, Lauren enjoys the open-mindedness of CrossWinds which supports employees in learning new interventions and techniques to improve the therapy process.

Jennifer Williams
Assistant Clinical Director

Jennifer received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Counseling from Emporia State University. She began working at CrossWinds in 1997 where she has held leadership roles such as coordinator of the Family Solutions Program, Internship Program Manager, Therapeutic Preschool Coordinator, and is currently the supervisor of the therapists that cover Lyon and Chase Counties. Jennifer has furthered her education and is now a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, she is endorsed in Infant-Toddler Mental Health, and is a Certified Play Therapist.

Megan Adcock- She/Her
Clinical Director

Megan earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Emporia State University. Megan enjoys providing the services and supports that CrossWinds offers to those of all ages but finds she is driven by working with children and their families. In particular, Infant Mental Health is a passion for Megan and she is endorsed to provide therapy to children 0-5 years of age and their families.

Jane has served as CrossWinds Executive Assistant since 2023. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and has over 10 years of prior experience providing office management in business, legal, and educational settings.

Jade has her Master’s degree in Social Work from Washburn University. She began working in the metal health field and at Crosswinds in 2019 beginning her work as the Psychosocial Group Manager. She has found a passion in working with children and families, improving services in rural communities, and decreasing the stigma of mental health in rural communities.

Cara Codney
Development and Marketing Specialist

Cara earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and Master of Arts in TESOL from Emporia State University, followed by a Master of Arts in English from ESU later in her career. After a career in education and administration in English as a second language in higher education, Cara transitioned to development and marketing for non-profits. She joined the CrossWinds' team in 2024. Cara also volunteers as a court appointed special advocate (CASA) in the 5th Judicial District for SOS CASA of the Flint Hills and serves on the Emporia Human Relations commission.
