Amanda Cunningham

Bio

In 2001 Amanda received her Master’s of Science degree in Clinical Psychology from Emporia State University and soon after, began her career at CrossWinds. Since middle school, she has known that child psychology was her dream and she has spent her career pursuing it. Amanda has held many leadership roles at CrossWinds and her current is the Chief Executive Officer. Amanda says of CrossWinds “working here has been a true blessing and I am so honored to be on the team!” Amanda and her husband of 18 years have four children.

 

Fun Fact

Amanda played on the 1997-1998 Lady Hornet basketball team that went to the Division II National Championship Game and who’s team has since been inducted into the ESU Hall of Honor

Inderjeet Kaur, M.D.

Medical Director

Bio

Dr. Kaur was born and raised in India where she also attended medical school. After that, she moved to the United States and became involved with various volunteer research projects at MIND institutes at the University of California, Davis. She then joined the residency program at the University of Missouri, Kansas City and completed her post-graduate training in adult psychiatry. After her residency training, due to her passion in teaching, she joined as a faculty member at Truman Medical Center to be involved with teaching students and residents. Dr. Kaur also served as a Medical Student Clerkship, Director for Psychiatry at UMKC from 2015-2017. She is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Psychiatry at the UMKC- School of Medicine and the CrossWinds Counseling and Wellness Medical Director.  Dr. Kaur is a Board Certified Psychiatrist and is also trained in other FDA approved somatic therapies.

 

Michael Soodjinda

Bio

After completely a Master in Business Administration, Michael was given a once in a lifetime opportunity with Citibank in Bangkok, Thailand. He rose through the ranks from Telesales then to Marketing Manager, and finally Assistant Vice President of Marketing Intelligence/Data Mining. What is Marketing Intelligence/Data Mining? He had no idea! More importantly, the new role allowed him to explore his roots in addition to learn more about his heritage and foster a relationship with his extended family.   Thailand the “Land of Smiles” was the most amazing place to live and he finally was able to connect the dots….

 

Fun Fact

In the late 80’s, his family left the hustling and bustling city of New York City and moved to Plant City, Florida. Plant City is known as the Strawberry Capital of the world. It was a huge adjustment for a teenager from the Bronx.He knew that he needed a hobby and was always fascinated with Martial Arts. He knew his father was conservative and wanted him to focus on becoming a Doctor so he saved his lunch money and didn’t tell him about his desire to enroll in a Tae Kwon Do School. After 3 years, he received his black belt and was asked to join the Florida Olympic Tae Kwon Do Team on the day he received his black belt. Later, he began teaching children and adults at the local YMCA.

Tyson Prouse

Tyson received his undergraduate degree from the College of the Ozarks with a major in Psychology and a minor in Sociology and Gerontology. He then moved on to receive his Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Emporia State University. Tyson has been in the mental health field since 2005.

Courtney Cates

Bio

Courtney attended Emporia State University to obtain her Business Degree. She then received her Master’s degree in Human Resource Development from Villanova University. Courtney is a certified human resource professional through the Society for Human Resource Management. Courtney began her career with CrossWinds in 2009 and said her favorite thing about the organization is “working with an outstanding group of employees who are passionate about mental health and improving lives in our communities.”

Brian Muench

Bio

Brian received his Undergraduate degree in Psychology from Eastern Illinois University and his Graduate degree in Social Work from the University of Iowa. Brian began working at CrossWinds in July of 1994 where he still enjoys helping others help themselves.

 

Fun Fact

Brian has skydived, bungee jumped, and traveled to France. On his bucket list, he would like to watch a major surgery, work in an orphanage, and take a multiple-week trip abroad.

Jennifer Williams

Lyon and Chase County Regional Manager

Bio

Jennifer received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Counseling from Emporia State University. She began working at CrossWinds in 1997 where she has held leadership roles such as coordinator of the Family Solutions Program, Internship Program Manager, Therapeutic Preschool Coordinator, and is currently the supervisor of the therapists that cover Lyon and Chase Counties. Jennifer has furthered her education and is now a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, she is endorsed in Infant-Toddler Mental Health, and is a Certified Play Therapist.

 

Fun Fact

In September of 2016, Jennifer completed a bucket list item to run a 50K (31 miles) through the Flint Hills.

Tiffany Neely

Lyon and Chase County Regional Manager

Bio

Tiffany earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Kansas State University and later her Master of Arts in Counseling at Doane University in Nebraska. Tiffany has worked in many different positions before coming to CrossWinds such as Psychiatric Aid in a long-term psychiatric hospital in Nebraska, Forensic Interviewer at the Abilene Police Department in Texas, and Community Based Services Coordinator at Four County Mental Health. Tiffany is a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst which allows her to provide services to those with disabilities that few others in the State of Kansas are able to do. When Tiffany’s husband’s job relocated them to Emporia, Tiffany began working for CrossWinds as the Region 4 Manager overseeing Coffey and Greenwood Counties. Tiffany took a position change within CrossWinds in 2017 when she accepted the position of Community-Based Services Coordinator in Lyon County. When asked what she likes most about CrossWinds, Tiffany replied “The culture of growth. CrossWinds is open to new experiences and new ways of doing things”

 

Fun Fact

Although Tiffany was born and raised in Dodge City, KS and has since lived in 3 other states, she now lives only 20 minutes away from her parents and 45 minutes away from her identical twin sister.

Megan Adcock

Morris and Wabaunsee County Regional Manager

Bio

Megan earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Emporia State University. Megan enjoys providing the services and supports that CrossWinds offers to those of all ages but finds she is driven by working with children and their families. In particular, Infant Mental Health is a passion for Megan and she is endorsed to provide therapy to children 0-5 years of age and their families.

 

Fun Fact

Megan attended college on a vocal music scholarship and performed in a women’s show choir for two years. Megan, her husband, and their kids enjoy singing around their house.

Lauren Rickner

Bio

Lauren graduated with her Masters in Clinical Psychology from Emporia State University in 2015. She began her career in the mental health field when she joined the CrossWinds team as a therapist in 2015. Most of all, Lauren enjoys the open-mindedness of CrossWinds which supports employees in learning new interventions and techniques to improve the therapy process.

 

Fun Fact

Lauren loves to travel and has visited several states, Jamaica, Australia, and hopes to visit Greece.

Kayla Scott

Bio

Kayla has her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and Art Therapy from Emporia State University. She began working in the mental health field in 2012 and greatly enjoys interacting with staff, building relationships with community partners, and being able to serve clients and their families at CrossWinds.

Kayla enjoys doing art, cooking, and spending time with her family

Dorothy Stevenson

Marketing Manager

Bio

Dorothy received her undergraduate degree in Sociology from Emporia State University in 2007. Shortly after college she began working at CrossWinds in the Alcohol and Drug Treatment and Prevention Department and transitioned to the Marketing Department in 2016. Dorothy is currently pursuing further education and plans to graduate with her Master’s in Business Administration with a Marketing Concentration in 2019. Dorothy and her husband have two kids that keep them busy between soccer, baseball, and gymnastics. When asked why she works in marketing at CrossWinds she said “I have hope that the efforts I put forth every day at work will educate our communities about the services we offer and encourage people to reach out for help. As an agency, we are providing individuals and families with the tools they need to manage their mental wellness and I couldn’t be prouder!”

 

Fun Fact

Dorothy can recite all 50 states in alphabetical order and believes that one day, in a game show type situation, that she will win a cash prize because of this talent.

Ann Fritz, PhD

Bio

Ann received her undergraduate degree from Washburn University, her graduate degree from Kansas University, and her Ph.D. from Kansas State. Ann has focused her efforts as a board member on getting mental health services into schools and to the children and families across the CrossWinds’ seven-county region.

 

Fun Fact

Ann enjoys playing bridge and has participated in national bridge tournaments in Memphis, Tennessee, and Las Vegas, Nevada.

Carol Hind

Vice President

Bio

Carol earned her diploma in nursing from Newman Hospital School of Nursing and became licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in 1963. While employed as the Continuing Education Director of Newman Hospital, she received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Emporia State University and later became the Newman Hospital Director of Nursing. Carol worked for CrossWinds from 2001 until she retired in 2012 as the Corporate Compliance Officer/ Risk Manager. Carol’s experience in developing and implementing comprehensive programs in acute healthcare and mental health has thoroughly prepared her to serve on the CrossWinds Governing Board.

 

Fun Fact

Carol enjoys spending her time with her family and working in her lawn and flower garden.

Eva Anschutz

Bio

Eva Anschutz is a Registered Nurse and has a long history or working in the health field. Eva worked at the Coffey County Hospital for 3 years followed by 6 months as the State Administrator for the first measles vaccinations in 1966. Eva spent 1 year as a pediatric nurse in Topeka. She spent 22.5 years in public health in Osage City where she was the first public health nurse/employee and when she left there were 14 staff in place.

 

Fun Fact

Eva enjoys gardening and cheering on her 6 grandsons while they play sports.

Monica Wullschleger

Bio

Monica attended Emporia State University where she received her degree in Finance and later received her Master’s in Business Administration. While attending school she met her husband and they now have a teenage son together. Monica believes that you can’t pour from an empty cup, that you must take care of yourself first and that CrossWinds helps so many to do that. She believes that mental health is the key to overall health and wellbeing.

 

Fun Fact

Monica enjoys relaxing by the water (lakes, oceans, and will even settle for a swimming pool in a pinch) and finds that reading a book by the waterside to be therapeutic

Carl Lee

Bio

Carl received his undergraduate degree in Environmental Biology from Emporia State University and works as the Public Health Emergency Planner for Coffey County. Carl believes that wellness is for everyone and that mental health is the key to keeping the mind and soul whole.

 

Fun Fact

Carl enjoys growing flowers, melons, and pumpkins in his spare time.

Karen Reeves

Bio

Karen attended both Kansas University and Emporia State University and although her degree was in education, she quickly learned that the classroom was not her calling. Karen bought two insurance agencies and combined them with real estate where she worked for 28 years. Karen’s most significant accomplishment was raising two kids while building a successful business. Karen believes in serving on the CrossWinds board because she sees the importance of helping people with mental health issues. She feels that if she can lend even a little time and effort to furthering education and professional intervention then maybe we can make a difference.

 

Fun Fact

Karen currently serves on the Arts Council Board, the First National Bank Board, the Foundation Board of the First United Methodist Church and a long time member of the P.E.O. In her spare time, Karen enjoys making stained glass and painting.

Lucas Moody

Bio

Lucas graduated from Emporia State University with a Bachelor’s in Sociology of children and family and a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling. Lucas is excited to be on the CrossWinds board because he feels compelled to help break down the stigma of mental health services and do his part to make sure services stay available to all people. Lucas has served on two state-level boards, one for poverty-fighting and one for child abuse along with 18 years of service in the helping field.

 

Fun Fact

Lucas’s happy place is Maine! The salty ocean smell, fresh lobster, and mountains out the back door are as close to paradise as he can imagine.

Susan Siepelmeier

Bio

Susan graduated from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development/ Gerontology. Susan is a licensed nursing home administrator and has spent most of her career in long-term care. Susan is currently the Executive Director of Emporia Presbyterian Manor.

Susan enjoys barefoot hiking in her spare time.

Linda Johnson

Bio

Linda graduated from the Kansas State Teaching College and worked in education for 33 years. She was honored in 2008 as one of 8 Kansas Teachers of the Year. Growing up, Linda’s family moved frequently as her father worked on the Atlas, Titan, and Minuteman missile projects. Linda was raised in the “Get Busy and Get Better” era and it wasn’t until her own daughter’s adolescent struggles that she realized that philosophy doesn’t always work.

 

Fun Fact

Linda’s maiden name is Hubbard and growing up everyone referred to her mother as “Mother Hubbard”

Michelle Garrett

Bio

Michelle has been a member of the CrossWinds board since the fall of 2014 and believes that good mental health is as important as good physical health. Michelle has a family member who has struggled with depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues for many years and is able to see the correlation between the decline of her physical health. Michelle is proud to be on the board of directors because she sees the great work the leadership and staff are doing at CrossWinds.

 

Fun Fact

Michelle operates the sound system for various functions held at her church such as Sunday services, weddings, funerals, and civic organization meetings.

Ellen Dennison

Bio

Ellen has been on the CrossWinds board since 1998 and enjoys being a part of an organization that is helping the community and its patrons. Ellen is involved in the Osage County Crime Stoppers and likes to work with the local 4-H clubs.

 

Fun Fact

Ellen loves to travel abroad and has traveled to Beijing, China to visit her youngest son. When not traveling, she enjoys gardening, quilting, raising cattle, and spending time with her family.

Fonda Spencer

Bio

Fonda received her Bachelor’s of Arts degree from Ottawa University and her Master’s degree from Emporia State University. Fonda said of being on the CrossWinds board that “it was one of those paths that I feel God directed me toward.” Fonda is right-brained, artistic, innovative, and random. She loves learning and is always in search of new ideas to pursue.

Fonda’s husband proposed to her on their 3rd date and the two have now been married for 40 years.

Jennifer Savage

Jennifer is the Wabaunsee County Clerk and also works in Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Quite often at work she sees people in crisis and has a first-hand view of the need for mental health services provided by CrossWinds. Jennifer feels that she is a voice on the board for the residents of Wabaunsee County and also makes sure that her community is aware of the services of CrossWinds.

Jennifer enjoys sewing and gardening and would like to someday go back to school to become a Registered Nurse.

Linda received her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Washburn University and Master’s from Fort Hays State University. Linda is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and has been practicing nursing for over 40 years. Linda is excited to be on the board and is passionate about getting mental health services to all who need it.

After retiring, Linda found enjoyment in weaving and spinning.

Rob Hoskins

Bio

Rob graduated from Wichita State University in 1982, the University of Missouri at Columbia in 2002, and is the current Sheriff of Wabaunsee County. Rob joined the board in 2005 and over the years has seen CrossWinds grow and increase services for the citizens of Wabaunsee County. He hopes to see CrossWinds continue to grow.

 

Fun Fact

Rob has seen a lot of ugliness in the world during his time as a police officer and to bring a little beauty back, he spends his downtime setting and crafting gemstones in sterling silver jewelry.
