We conveniently provide services in seven counties in east central Kansas. Our main location is in Emporia, KS with satellite offices in Strong City, Burlington, Eureka, Council Grove, Osage City, Eskridge and Alma, KS.

Payments & Fees
CrossWinds accepts many different insurances, including private insurance, Medicaid, and Medicare. Uninsured clients may qualify for sliding scale fees based on household size and income. Payment is expected at the time of services, unless other arrangements have been made.
CrossWinds provides services to all patients regardless of ability to pay. Fees for essential services may be reduced based on family size and income. For more information, ask the front desk.
Our History
Founded in 1960, CrossWinds Counseling & Wellness is licensed by the State of Kansas as a Community Mental Health Center (CMHC) and Substance Use Treatment (SUD) Center as well as a provisionally licensed Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC).
CrossWinds employs 220+ people and operates on an annual expense budget of approximately $16,000,000. We employ a variety of providers, including psychologists, clinical social workers, marriage and family therapists, professional counselors, case managers, attendant care workers, wraparound facilitators, and peer support workers among others.
We are governed by a volunteer board of directors comprised of 2-5 members from each participating county, 1 Severe and Persistent Mentally Ill (SPMI) adult consumer and 1 family member of an Severely Emotionally Disturbed (SED) child or adolescent.
