Help is a call away. If you are in crisis, you have immediate access to our 24-hour emergency services.
Getting help in a crisis or emergency situation can range from a brief supportive, immediate intervention to a more intensive array of crisis services (such as intensive case management) that can be put into place until the crisis is over. An emergency screening visit sets the stage for the type and level of services to follow.
For crisis intervention, emergency, or screening services during the daytime, call our main number: 620-343-2211 or 800-279-3645. For emergencies after hours, call 620-343-2626 or 866-330-3310.
These services include screening, attendant care, crisis case management, and referral to appropriate resources, including hospitalization (if warranted). A licensed counselor is on-call 24 hours a day to respond to mental wellness and substance abuse crisis and emergency situations by telephone or in person (if necessary).
Most of the time, crises are successfully resolved without a hospitalization or out-of-home placement due to CrossWinds’s ability to implement services such as immediate counseling, medication, and attendant care. When a hospitalization or other out-of-home placement is needed, CrossWinds’ staff help to make arrangements and are in place to support clients at the time of discharge. Most hospitalizations or other placements are short-term due to the array of services available in the community.
