Drawing on cutting-edge research and neuroscience, this workshop focuses on the information highlighted in Dr. Bryson’s best-selling books The Whole-Brain Child (Random House, 2011, co-authored with Daniel J. Siegel) and No-Drama Discipline (Random House, 2014, co-authored with Daniel J. Siegel).  Understanding the Whole-Brain approach will allow educators and therapists to:

  • Consider ACE (Adverse Childhood Experience) from an interpersonal, neurobiology lens
  • Apply the framework of interpersonal neurobiology to child development and discipline strategies
  • Understand different types of integration that will allow them to teach in revolutionary ways;
  • Utilize Whole-Brain strategies to lay the groundwork for promoting integration and mental health in parents and their children;
  • Be intentional about teaching specific caregiving experiences to shape how children’s brains are wired and therefore function;
  • Teach kids about their own brain so they can have additional tools for self-regulation and make better decisions;
  • Work with parents to establish a consistent, overarching, Whole-Brain approach to discipline
  • Give kids tools to change their own struggles so they can be less reactive and more resilient.
