Amanda Cunningham - She/Her

Bio

In 2001 Amanda received her Master’s of Science degree in Clinical Psychology from Emporia State University and soon after, began her career at CrossWinds. Since middle school, she has known that child psychology was her dream and she has spent her career pursuing it. Amanda has held many leadership roles at CrossWinds and her current is the Chief Executive Officer. Amanda says of CrossWinds “working here has been a true blessing and I am so honored to be on the team!” Amanda and her husband of 18 years have four children.

 

Fun Fact

Amanda played on the 1997-1998 Lady Hornet basketball team that went to the Division II National Championship Game and who’s team has since been inducted into the ESU Hall of Honor

Courtney Cates

Bio

Courtney attended Emporia State University to obtain her Business Degree. She then received her Master’s degree in Human Resource Development from Villanova University. Courtney is a certified human resource professional through the Society for Human Resource Management. Courtney began her career with CrossWinds in 2009 and said her favorite thing about the organization is “working with an outstanding group of employees who are passionate about mental health and improving lives in our communities.”

Jade Fankhauser

Bio

Jade has her Master’s degree in Social Work from Washburn University. She began working in the metal health field and at Crosswinds in 2019 beginning her work as the Psychosocial Group Manager. She has found a passion in working with children and families, improving services in rural communities, and decreasing the stigma of mental health in rural communities.

 

Fun Fact

In her free time Jade enjoys fishing, golfing, and spending time with her husband, family, and friends.

Bio

Stephanie graduated from Fort Hays State University with a degree in health and human performance. Stephanie has worked in the non profit world since graduating college. Stephanie was a director of a non profit providing services to youth and has spent the last five years raising her twin boys and running a small family business in her spare time.

Cameron has played in multiple rock bands through his high school and college years.

Kurt Haberkorn

Community Support Services Director

Bio

Kurt Haberkorn is a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker educated at the University of Kansas. Kurt has been with Crosswinds nearly 20 years and currently directs the Community Support Services program, serving adults with severe mental illness. At Crosswinds, Kurt has served as a therapist serving all populations and in Emergency Services when he helped establish the first CIT, (Crisis Intervention Team), training for law enforcement in Emporia and Lyon County. During his career, Kurt Haberkorn has nearly 40 years’ experience starting in juvenile detention and group homes, inpatient psychiatric treatment, alcohol and drug services, and hospice care. Additionally, Kurt has taught at both the community college and university level. Kurt Haberkorn is committed to the concept of Community Mental Health Care, serving all persons in need regardless of income, background, orientation, faith, ethnicity, race or age.

Rob Hoskins

Bio

Rob graduated from Wichita State University in 1982, the University of Missouri at Columbia in 2002, and is the current Sheriff of Wabaunsee County. Rob joined the board in 2005 and over the years has seen CrossWinds grow and increase services for the citizens of Wabaunsee County. He hopes to see CrossWinds continue to grow.

 

Fun Fact

Rob has seen a lot of ugliness in the world during his time as a police officer and to bring a little beauty back, he spends his downtime setting and crafting gemstones in sterling silver jewelry.

Linda Rogers

Bio

Linda received her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Washburn University and Master’s from Fort Hays State University. Linda is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and has been practicing nursing for over 40 years. Linda is excited to be on the board and is passionate about getting mental health services to all who need it.

 

Fun Fact

After retiring, Linda found enjoyment in weaving and spinning.

Ellen Dennison

Bio

Ellen has been on the CrossWinds board since 1998 and enjoys being a part of an organization that is helping the community and its patrons. Ellen is involved in the Osage County Crime Stoppers and likes to work with the local 4-H clubs.

 

Fun Fact

Ellen loves to travel abroad and has traveled to Beijing, China to visit her youngest son. When not traveling, she enjoys gardening, quilting, raising cattle, and spending time with her family.

Linda Johnson

Bio

Linda graduated from the Kansas State Teaching College and worked in education for 33 years. She was honored in 2008 as one of 8 Kansas Teachers of the Year. Growing up, Linda’s family moved frequently as her father worked on the Atlas, Titan, and Minuteman missile projects. Linda was raised in the “Get Busy and Get Better” era and it wasn’t until her own daughter’s adolescent struggles that she realized that philosophy doesn’t always work.

 

Fun Fact

Linda’s maiden name is Hubbard and growing up everyone referred to her mother as “Mother Hubbard”

Lucas Moody - He/Him

Bio

Lucas graduated from Emporia State University with a Bachelor’s in Sociology of children and family and a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling. Lucas is excited to be on the CrossWinds board because he feels compelled to help break down the stigma of mental health services and do his part to make sure services stay available to all people. Lucas has served on two state-level boards, one for poverty-fighting and one for child abuse along with 18 years of service in the helping field.

 

Fun Fact

Lucas’s happy place is Maine! The salty ocean smell, fresh lobster, and mountains out the back door are as close to paradise as he can imagine.

Monica Wullschleger

Bio

Monica attended Emporia State University where she received her degree in Finance and later received her Master’s in Business Administration. While attending school she met her husband and they now have a teenage son together. Monica believes that you can’t pour from an empty cup, that you must take care of yourself first and that CrossWinds helps so many to do that. She believes that mental health is the key to overall health and wellbeing.

 

Fun Fact

Monica enjoys relaxing by the water (lakes, oceans, and will even settle for a swimming pool in a pinch) and finds that reading a book by the waterside to be therapeutic

Eva Anschutz

Bio

Eva Anschutz is a Registered Nurse and has a long history or working in the health field. Eva worked at the Coffey County Hospital for 3 years followed by 6 months as the State Administrator for the first measles vaccinations in 1966. Eva spent 1 year as a pediatric nurse in Topeka. She spent 22.5 years in public health in Osage City where she was the first public health nurse/employee and when she left there were 14 staff in place.

 

Fun Fact

Eva enjoys gardening and cheering on her 6 grandsons while they play sports.

Carol Hind

Bio

Carol earned her diploma in nursing from Newman Hospital School of Nursing and became licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in 1963. While employed as the Continuing Education Director of Newman Hospital, she received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Emporia State University and later became the Newman Hospital Director of Nursing. Carol worked for CrossWinds from 2001 until she retired in 2012 as the Corporate Compliance Officer/ Risk Manager. Carol’s experience in developing and implementing comprehensive programs in acute healthcare and mental health has thoroughly prepared her to serve on the CrossWinds Governing Board.

Carol enjoys spending her time with her family and working in her lawn and flower garden.

Kayla Scott - She/Her

Bio

Kayla has her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and Art Therapy from Emporia State University. She began working in the mental health field in 2012 and greatly enjoys interacting with staff, building relationships with community partners, and being able to serve clients and their families at CrossWinds.

Lauren Rickner - She/Her

Bio

Lauren graduated with her Masters in Clinical Psychology from Emporia State University in 2015. She began her career in the mental health field when she joined the CrossWinds team as a therapist in 2015. Most of all, Lauren enjoys the open-mindedness of CrossWinds which supports employees in learning new interventions and techniques to improve the therapy process.

 

Fun Fact

Lauren loves to travel and has visited several states, Jamaica, Australia, and hopes to visit Greece.

Megan Adcock

Bio

Megan earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Emporia State University. Megan enjoys providing the services and supports that CrossWinds offers to those of all ages but finds she is driven by working with children and their families. In particular, Infant Mental Health is a passion for Megan and she is endorsed to provide therapy to children 0-5 years of age and their families.

 

Fun Fact

Megan attended college on a vocal music scholarship and performed in a women’s show choir for two years. Megan, her husband, and their kids enjoy singing around their house.

Jennifer Williams

Lyon and Chase County Regional Manager

Bio

Jennifer received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Counseling from Emporia State University. She began working at CrossWinds in 1997 where she has held leadership roles such as coordinator of the Family Solutions Program, Internship Program Manager, Therapeutic Preschool Coordinator, and is currently the supervisor of the therapists that cover Lyon and Chase Counties. Jennifer has furthered her education and is now a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, she is endorsed in Infant-Toddler Mental Health, and is a Certified Play Therapist.

 

Fun Fact

In September of 2016, Jennifer completed a bucket list item to run a 50K (31 miles) through the Flint Hills.
